Day Three

You know what really doesn't help with huge writing challenges, particularly when you're trying to get back on the horse?  Distractions.

In my case, I stupidly went out and purchased a copy of Persona 5, which I had been wanting for months (technically years).  I knew it was a bad idea, but I did it anyway because it was on sale and there was only one copy left in the store and because, well, being pregnant is hard and I wanted to treat myself and stuff... I know, I'm a worthless, weak individual.  Anyway, Persona 5 sucked up a bit of my free time this weekend, so I didn't really get started on the Camp Nanowrimo challenge until yesterday and I certainly didn't make my quota.

A bad start doesn't necessarily spell failure, though.  I'm going to go above and beyond quota today in the hopes that I will manage to catch up somehow.  Besides, while keeping up with the pack is part of my goal, the real prize will be getting back into the habit of writing every day, even if it's not 1,667 words worth.

If I end the month with a sizable chunk of novel and my work ethic back, I will be more than happy about that.
